Halmstad Theater is part of Destination Halmstad AB and has been a central stage for concerts, theater, dance, conferences, and events since 1954.

What you will do

Do you want to create magic behind the scenes without constantly being on the road? As a stage master at Halmstad Theater, you will be an important part of an experienced team that makes every performance and event possible. Here you will work with everything from concerts and theater to conferences and meetings, in a theater with proud traditions and modern technology.

As a stage master, you will be responsible for the theater's technical integrity

with planning, operation, and development in close collaboration with organizers, artists, and colleagues. You will alternate between administrative responsibilities and practical work on stage, in the auditorium, foyer, and in our meeting rooms.

Your tasks will include:

• Planning upcoming performances/events and being the contact person for technical and stage issues.
• Collecting and quality-assuring riders; booking walkthroughs, viewings, and technical meetings.
• Scheduling permanent and hourly technical staff (month by month).
• Renting additional equipment, booking e.g., piano tuning, and purchasing stage materials.
• Being a lighting/sound technician when needed; producing lighting design when the organizer lacks a lighting technician.
• Carrying out hangings, set construction, draping, and podium building.
• Being stage responsible during performances (entrances, lifts, power supply).
• Maintaining safety: fire and safety watch during performances.
• Ongoing service and maintenance of entrances, chairs in the auditorium, and all stage technical equipment.
• Supporting events and meetings with e.g., furniture arrangement and table setting as well as being responsible for technology.

Your experiences

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of documented experience in stage technology, preferably in a leading or coordinating role.
• Good understanding of sound, lighting, and stage technical systems.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for planning and safety on stage.

Meritorious:

• Several years of experience in stage technology.
• Relevant education in sound or lighting production.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and security in stage areas.
